PARADE RULES
1. You must register in advance. No “walk-ons,” please! It is our plan to have rough lineup positions available to you via our website and other communication means during March. The final lineup will be posted to this website a few days prior to the parade date.
2. The parade committee has the right to deny participation to any group that desires to march in the parade. Violation of these rules will result in being denied the right to march in future parades.
3. Late arrivals will form the last division of the parade, along with any participants who did not register through our provided form (if permitted to march by the Parade Committee).
4. No buses or cars will be permitted to park on streets used to line up the parade units (the marshaling area). All transportation units (including buses, vans, etc.) are not permitted in the line of march. The transportation buses/vans will discharge passengers at assigned locations and proceed to a designated parking area at the end of the parade route on West End Avenue.
5. Drilling will be permitted only in a forward motion in the line of march.
6. Intoxication or disorderly conduct in the line of march will not be permitted.
7. For safety reasons, the throwing of candy or other items from the floats is strictly prohibited. This rule will be enforced and violators will be requested to pull out of the parade. Candy, trinkets, etc. may be handed out at the curbside only.
8. The sounding of sirens or air horns will not be permitted. Any unit that violates this rule will be barred from future parades.
9. Bands must play the entire length of the parade (since the route is so short) and all marching units must perform in front of the reviewing stand at Davenport Street. Marchers are to stay in formation and perform to the end of the parade at Immaculate Conception School. Units can disperse at the ICS church parking lot.
10. No political statements, memorabilia, or signage any kind (including banners and flags) will be permitted.
11. Units with animals in their group must provide their own sanitary engineers to clean up wherever the animals may have been present (including the staging area and line of march).
