Pat Mannion Named 2011

Grand Marshall


Patrick Mannion was born on April 10, 1963, in Morristown, N. J., the third of four children born to Coleman and Maureen Mannion of Peapack.  Patrick graduated Bernards High School in 1982 and went on to college at California University of Pennsylvania.

Patrick's Father Coley was born in Ireland (Connemara) and Maureen, his Mother's parents were both born in Ireland.   His father came to America when he was 19 years old by boat.  The trip at that time took 3 weeks.  He came with his brother to a dinner dance in Morristown and met his mother.  He asked her to marry him 3 weeks later.  He then moved to Somerset County and has stayed there ever since.

After college Pat returned to Somerset County and began to work for Merrill Lynch in Somerville for three years.  After Merrill Lynch he worked for I.C. System for ten years.

The family owns C Mannion Construction Company and was established in 1970.  In the strong Irish tradition of hard work and fine craftsmanship the family business has been operating locally for 39 years. 

Pub Owner -  Pat has operated Mannions Irish Pub on Main Street in Somerville, which he co-owns with his father and brother, since then.

Pat's hospitable nature, commitment to community and love of his Irish heritage has made Mannions one of the premier destinations in Central Jersey for traditional Irish food, drink and entertainment.

Pat has deep roots in the community.

It is because of Patrick Mannion's commitment to his family, community and Irish heritage that he has been named the Grand Marshal of the 20th Annual Somerville Saint Patrick's Day Parade.
